Does CBD Get You High?

Many people may assume CBD causes the same effects as THC because it can be found in the same cannabis plant. Can CBD get you high? Cannabidiol by itself does not cause intoxication and doesn’t get you high.

What Is THC?

THC is the name for Tetrahydrocannabinol, a psychotropic substance in marijuana. This substance has a narcotic effect and causes a state of euphoria. This relaxing state is achieved by influencing cannabinoid receptors in the brain. It affects coordination, a form of pleasure, and cognitive ability. It also increases appetite by stimulating the hypothalamus in the brain, which signals hunger.

Of course, THC, like CBD, affects our brain, which makes it ideal for treating headaches, migraines, depression, anxiety, and insomnia. Nevertheless, THC is prohibited in most countries, while CBD is allowed.

What Is CBD?

Cannabidiol is a compound based on lipids (fats) obtained from hemp. Products such as oils, tinctures, and capsules are usually a combination of CBD oil with edible oils such as olive, coconut, or hemp, which are necessary for a satisfactory consistency and taste.

Can CBD hemp oil get you high? If you suffer from chronic pain, hemp with a high CBD content will be preferable, as it will not interfere with daily activities and doesn’t get you high. For people who suffer from chronic pain due to illness, CBD is recommended as it reduces discomfort without affecting the ability to function normally.

The level of CBD and THC may vary depending on the type of plant. Marijuana grown for recreational purposes contains more THC. Industrial marijuana – more CBD. Modern science has made it possible to produce varieties with high levels of CBD and almost zero THC content.

THC and CBD: What’s the Difference?

Among European experts, there is a standard theory that both substances, THC and CBD, enhance the positive qualities of each other. For example, pure THC cannabis can cause anxiety and stress. However, when the CBD effect is added, many users experience relaxation and an onslaught of positive feelings. CBD has been proven to enhance the pain-relieving properties of THC.

Feminized marijuana seeds can vary significantly in their THC: CBD ratio. These hemp types can be too intense for users who experience anxiety or stress. Medical cannabis, which typically contains more than 4% CBD, can be very beneficial for users who experience anxiety, as CBD has been shown to minimize the adverse effects of THC. It is important to note that the same plant can affect users differently.

Why Shouldn’t You Wait for High Effects from CBD?

The endocannabinoid system modulates body functions such as sleep, appetite, consciousness, and anxiety level. Our body produces natural cannabinoids and, of course, can be supplemented with exogenous cannabinoids in marijuana. CBD is valued for its effects on our consciousness if THC is known for its medical influence without psychoactive effects. Do you believe that CBD can get you high?

  • THC (the most potent variety of cannabis) can bind to receptors in the brain, central nervous system (CNS), gonads, and other organs.
  • CBD receptors are also responsible for psychoactive feelings, pain relief, and more. On the other hand, CBD is not a psychoactive substance. It regulates the immune system and binds some receptors responsible for physical and mental health.

Conclusion

CBD can be extracted from the cannabis plant, but it's not that CBD that gets you high. World medicine defines Cannabidiol as a substance with a good safety profile that does not cause addiction and psychoactive reactions, so CBD was excluded from the list of dangerous narcotic substances.
